Why Pro Weather
Ditch the server, keep the weather
Putting a Davis weather station online used to mean WeatherLink templates, FTP, PHP and a Raspberry Pi humming in the attic. Not anymore.
Running it yourself
- Rent a server and wrestle with PHP weather templates
- Keep a PC or Raspberry Pi running around the clock
- Babysit FTP uploads, scripts and broken cron jobs
- Lose history beyond WeatherLink’s short data window
- Configure DNS, SSL certificates and renewals yourself
With Pro Weather
- Paste your WeatherLink API key. That’s the whole setup
- Fully hosted: nothing to install, run or update
- Your site refreshes itself every 10 minutes
- Every reading archived, so charts and records keep growing
- Custom domain with automatic SSL in a few clicks

FAQ
Questions, answered
How do I put my Davis weather station online?
First make sure your Davis station already reports to the WeatherLink cloud through a WeatherLink Live, WeatherLink Console or datalogger. Then paste your WeatherLink v2 API key into Pro Weather: we auto-discover your sensors and build a complete hosted weather website on a free subdomain or your own domain. No server, no code, live in minutes.
Which weather stations are supported?
Any Davis Instruments station connected to WeatherLink: Vantage Pro2, Vantage Vue and EnviroMonitor, whether it reports through a WeatherLink Live, WeatherLink Console or datalogger, including AirLink air-quality sensors. You just need a WeatherLink v2 API key, which you can generate for free at weatherlink.com/account.
How do I create a website for my personal weather station?
With Pro Weather it takes three steps: paste your WeatherLink v2 API key, customize your title, units and theme, and publish on a free subdomain or your own domain. Your Davis station’s data appears as a complete weather website (live conditions, forecast, charts and records) with nothing to install.
How can I show my WeatherLink data on my own website?
WeatherLink’s own tools give you a single fixed embed widget and the raw v2 API. Pro Weather turns that same WeatherLink v2 API key into a full, multi-page weather website on your own domain — live conditions, forecast, charts, history and records — with no code to write.
Can I get my weather station online without a server, PC or Raspberry Pi?
Yes, for Davis WeatherLink stations. Self-hosted setups like WeeWX, CumulusMX or PHP weather templates need an always-on machine, FTP and ongoing upkeep. Pro Weather is fully hosted in the cloud: you paste your WeatherLink API key and your site runs and refreshes itself, with nothing to install or keep running at home.
Do I need a paid WeatherLink subscription to publish my data?
No. A free WeatherLink account can generate the v2 API key Pro Weather needs. From the moment you connect, we record and keep your readings, building charts and a full history in your own site over time — even though WeatherLink’s own free page shows only current conditions. History is archived going forward from when you connect.
What happens to my weather data?
From the moment you connect, we archive every reading your station produces. That archive powers historic charts that unlock progressively (7 days, 30 days, 90 days, a full year), plus all-time records, monthly climate summaries and the wind rose. The longer your site runs, the richer it gets.
Can I use my own domain name?
Yes. On Pro you can connect one or more custom domains with a simple CNAME record. SSL certificates are issued and renewed automatically. No configuration needed.
Will it strain my WeatherLink API limits?
No. Our servers fetch your data about once every 10 minutes and cache it, so visitors never hit the WeatherLink API directly. Even a busy site stays light on your quota.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Each site has its own simple plan — monthly or yearly — that you can cancel whenever you like, and the trial requires no credit card. No contracts, no surprises.
