06 / Before you connect

Fair questions.

How do I put my weather station online?

Connect your station and we create your site. Davis stations use a WeatherLink v2 API key. Ecowitt and Tempest use their cloud account. Most other hardware connects through weewx, CumulusMX or Meteobridge. We find your sensors automatically. Publish on a free subdomain or your own domain. No server or code required.

Which weather stations are supported?

Davis stations on WeatherLink, Ecowitt and Fine Offset gateways, and WeatherFlow Tempest connect directly. This includes Vantage Pro2, Vantage Vue, EnviroMonitor and AirLink. Most other hardware connects through weewx, Meteobridge or CumulusMX. See the compatibility guide for the full list.

Do I need a paid WeatherLink subscription?

No. A free WeatherLink account can create the v2 API key you need. Once connected, Pro Weather archives every reading, including on WeatherLink’s free plan.

Can Pro Weather upload my data to Weather Underground, WOW or CWOP?

Yes. Pro sites and trials can publish every reading to Weather Underground, Met Office WOW, CWOP, Windy, AWEKAS and Weathercloud. MQTT and InfluxDB are also supported. Add each service’s credentials once and we publish on every refresh.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes. Pro supports one or more custom domains. Add a CNAME record and we issue and renew SSL certificates automatically.

What happens after the free trial?

Choose a monthly or yearly Pro subscription to keep your site public after the 14-day trial. If you do not subscribe, the site goes offline. There is no automatic charge because the trial does not ask for a credit card.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Each site has a monthly or yearly plan that you can cancel at any time. The 14-day trial needs no credit card.
